Day 2 in LALA land

yawns.... it was so early... chen li work up at like.. 6 am?!?! early bird catches the wormmm... and i forgot why, but we all work up and poked our heads out of the window, and i took pictures of the surroundings. you see the clump of stuff on the sand? it was a man.. buried in sand. i tot it was some rubbish?!
see the swarms of doves. wah the people are so hardworking!!! so early already riding their bikes.
the beach look so tranquil and pretty! (actually, i saw some groups of people loitering, quite scary norhs. erps.)
I went back to sleep for a while. we woke up at 7+.. chen li didn't go back to sleep tho, always wake up super early! haha, this is a pic i took after i woke up and washed up Xp chen li in the early mode

081806 $ pickup 2the planes kept vrooming pass us, SO CLOSE richtig? its like. so near the airport, so yup, $ pickup is a great place to rent a car!!
i'm a smoker!!! haha, funny thing they use to stuff their cigarrette butts.. :X look like a stand or something. raja smokers! (OBS grp:] )
the road outside $ pickup! interesting traffic light and road signs eh?
a peek @ wat khian was up to (frm his sis, pauline) while me n chen li were happily snapping away. ahaha. why so serious? got wat business-related sms ah. ahaha..

well, more about our luggage upload to the cars? remember wat i said about the "upcoming hiccup" well, we got a normal car, the boot was TOO small to fit in our luggage, by the time we stuffed our huge 32 inches into the seats, there were no space to squeeze people in.... so, the nice lady upgraded it to a car with a larger boot, so we took out the luggage (keep counting, 2nd time), and uploaded it into the new car. damn! too small again, den, we finally got our mini van, which was like half a van of 4/5 seats and half a van of storage spaces. so yes, we uploaded and took out our luggage 3 times in a row. and haha, khian hong drove out 3 cars and packed it along the waiting aile. damn funny lar. and we WERE EXHAUSTED!! my god lar.

aft all this hassle and bussle, it was alr 8pm. and damn!! song yu estimated the drive to his aunt's place 45 minutes, with his uncle's driving speed and their familiarity with the area. we ventured out into the unknown. no recce on board, but poor pauline was trying to direct with the poor lights in the car. i was messaging song yu and asking for directions.

so we drove. got pass the freeways, and entered the sub-urban area. LA is HUGE. well, the thing about roads there is they stretch for miles and miles, for like i dunno, 20, 30 cross junctions(traffic lights)? so we drove along the road we were supposed to be on, looking for a sign which said west -i forgot wats the name- road, and drove, and drove and drove. after driving for like 20 mins on the road, we realised someth was wrong, so i called song yu, n we realised we passed it like v v v v v long ago. and we had to U turn.

everyone was starving alr. esp khian hong, poor th, had to drive.. passion fruit laxerol was the only food we had. hmm. and some craneberry snack we koped frm SIA. so we drove back to a 'prominent' area to meet song yu's aunt. reaching there first, couldn't find them, so we got off the car to go to a nearby supermarket. 10pm, the doors just closed on us. damn. no choice so went to da bao food from a chinese restaurant. bot fried rice, some seafood stuff, two packs, ard 10 bucks. sighs.

FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY, song yu appeared. it was such a relief to see him...!! and well, nv see him v long le. so we were all overwhelmed with joy!! while we were all wrapped up in few layers of clothings, he appeared with his sis, in t-shirt and shorts. -- stupid lar.

so finally headed towards his aunt's place, with him in our car and his sis in his aunt's car. their apartment was a whole block of a few apartments. each apartment had like 3 or 4 stories and a garage. interesting area, v inaccessible unless with a car. by the time we reached, 11pm, and it was pitch-dark and solemnly quiet. had to quietly pull our luggage to their place. v paiseh lar. disturb their family.. den we still eat dinner at their place lor. tsk.

uncle vit, song yu's uncle, gave us directions to head to our hotel, cadillac hotel @ venice beach, which was just in the vicinity of the airport. driving back again. so far lars!!!! OMG lor. we reached our hotel past midnight?!?! OMG, and the area was quite deserted, albeit beside the beach. there were loitering groups around, making the place seemingly more dangerous, but no choice lor.

the room was rather a disappointment. although it was huge. like a.. 2 room flat, no living room tho. and with a walkin wardrobe, which was weird. i dunno. haha. super big for us to dump our barang barangs. we were all trying to get online, but sadly no wireless to use, haf to pay.. sighs.

wat an eventful day. guess 18 august '06 will be one of the longest day in my life. you guys must be wondering, how come the day never ends?!?! well, its elongated due to the 15 hours lag in LA compared to Singapore.. the beginning of the new segment of my life, and the closing of the fading chapters in my life.. good or bad.. i haf no idea.. and i just wanted to sleep after this taxing day.... haha (eeyer, poor attempt to be poetic and cheem. sheesh)

look at the colorful shuttle we took!!!! and observe... the barang barangs i carried. think my handcarry alone was like.. 10kg?!?! and i had another sling bag, and another small pouch for my documents/valuables. CRAZY lars. my shoulder nearly dieded. anws, this was taken by bored chen li n me while khian and pauline went to settle logistics.... (SLACKERS :(:( )
this was the door to the unknown.... haha no lar, just tt dunno wat khian and pauline were doing inside. (DUH, logistics lar) cos they took a longgggggggggg time. haha. me n chen li were outside looking after........
look at the WIDE selections of cars!!!! so exciting rite. haha. the place was qt nice, and... the wind.. was getting quite cold.... nearly froze to blocks of ice. tada. the reason why me and chenli loitered outside and took a series of photoes. muaha. so many luggage bags!!!!! another reason for our upcoming hiccup..

aiya, paiseh, super shaky hands of mine. but do you see the CHEESY DOTTY bus up front??? so funny rights! anws, tt was just outside airport. so manyyyyyyy car-rental pickup shuttles? but dollar was GREAT! we got a great deal :):):)

After 16 gruelling hours of airflight, finally finally finally we've reached LA.... its still 18 august!! OMG. haha. and it was 5+pm. lala land. and yes, the country which i will stay at least for the next 3 years... it was pure excitement for me when i reached. but now. HAHA.

Danke to Pauline, who kindly took this picture for us! where is our dear song yu? oh, i must mention this, he kindly messaged us as we were in the airport in singapore! so nice rite :)

well, i was just browsing through all the pictures in my picasa folder now, thanks to khian, who kindly introduced me to it. i still haven't figured out how to do collages tho... boo boos. i'm so --
i kinda feel blue now. BLUEEEEEEEEEE. i was looking at WCP pics, n i found tt, hey. 2+ weeks in LA, n i tink we changed alr. our relations haf changed. chen li is MIA, i feel that song yu is not as happy-go-lucky as before, i dunno. i just enjoyed myself much more in spore. and i really really miss LA and the WCP shopping times. boo boo. :( i dunno. now it just seems like, we get together, becos we need to? not becos we want to? issit like tt? am i thinking too much again.. puis. blueeeeeeeeeeeee mooooooooooooooooooooon...

and yea. i miss rajas. happy ktv-ing, happy board games. and i miss my two fave pals. u girls. sighh. i miss 3 towers! rioHC, miss xiamen times, miss miss lim... me slim!!! hahaha. i wish man. :( boo boo. and i'm clearly not mugging properly today. sighs..

my great plane-mate, a-star mate, fellow WCP-ian!! khian was two rows in front and pauline (khian's sis) in front of us. tink me n chen li v lucky got company. haha. and we (khian, kelvin chan, chen li n me) "illegally" gathered at the back of the plane! and got chased away aft a while. there was a gallery, with fruits, tidbits, mars bars, and water! well, the plane was realllyyyyyyy dry. dun really like long flights. but HENG ah, SQ has like super spacious seats, great entertainment.. me n chen li played who wants to be a millionaire, battleship.. etc etc. haha so fun!and lastlyyyyy meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. with a ben n jerry cherry gracia bar. haha, the man beside chen li looked at us with interest. wats these weird girls doing, nv see ice cream before issit?! haha. (chen li ah! how come blur de Xp)

anws, u pp, if u ever take a long flight over to US, please please please, wrap yourself up with warm clothing, its freaking cold up there. X i was tying myself up with my "scarf", buttoned up my jacket.. n sians. still superrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr cold. brrrrrrrrrrr.

ping ah ping.. thanks for coming, really. its so far lor, NTU and airport. opp ends of singapore!! no matter how small singapore is. thanks aunt for coming too!!!! i'm so touched :) haiya why u silly girl cry. roars. make me cry too....... (tts the only reason i cried) i mean, cos basically i was really happy everyone came ma. so i didn't feel like crying!!! until i hugged this childhood friend of mine den i felt a tinch of i dun wanna leave!!! stupid shuqin, nv ccoome. roars at you lor. ROARRRRR. i miss you guys. so much. happy bday qin!!!! its just past 12th sept here. HAHA. Xp

ok you astar-ians. you ROCK. yayyy. i love rajas. lalalala. raja rocks!! tho we've only known each other for the short 2 months, now going 3, i feel like i've known u guys forever man! i so miss our outings to ktv, lennon's driving, bro falling down during ice-skating, board games!!!! n most of all, OBS. i hereby sincerely wish that a-star gives us the 14 day OBS course next year. prays hard. i wanna go with rajas again!

this is my sis. like DUHHHHH. haha so sociable that i was so disappointed why she nv cry. just mix with my fwens only....

and lastly, this is my happy family, strangely my mom and sis didn't cry, ones who i expected to.. its just weird.
